Los números en inglés.
Es importante aprender a pronunciar y a escribir bien los números en inglés, así como saber decir correctamente las operaciones de suma, resta, multiplicación y división. A continuación podéis ver algunos ejemplos.
resta = subtraction
multiplicación = multiplication
división = division
uno más cinco = one plus five
uno menos cinco = one minus five
uno por cinco = one multiplied by five / multiply one by 5 / one by five / one times 5
uno dividido entre cinco = one divided by fiveTambién nos interesa saber que el cero muchas veces se pronuncia como la letra "o" para decir un numero de teléfono o un número con decimales. Por lo tanto, 7.05 £ que serían 7 libras con cinco peniques, se puede decir perfectamente como seven o five. Cuando hablamos de resultados de partidos(futbol, tenis,...) se dice nil, y si se quiere decir solo la cifra 0 se puede decir como nought.
Otro dato interesante sobre los números en inglés es que los números de cuatro cifras que terminan en dos ceros, como 1500, 2600, 4400... se pueden decir como si multiplicaras las dos primeras cifras por cien:
1500 = fifteen hundred
2600 = twenty six hundred
4400 = forty four hundred
